Public Works officials announced that this year's preservation program will overhaul over seventeen miles of pavement across eight county roads. Commuters can expect localized traffic disruptions and fresh asphalt projects rolling out this week on major corridors, including Pennsylvania Avenue and Route Sixty-Four.In local sports, freshwater anglers across the Twin Tiers are hitting the water this week following the official opening of the New York statewide bass fishing harvest season. Largemouth and smallmouth bass can be legally kept through November thirtieth.And two veteran paddlers are generating major buzz along local waterways today. Seventy-year-old Maggie Monroe-Cassel and sixty-seven-year-old Karen Yeversky are on a four-day trek after launching their canoe in Hornell.
